Driver Reviver

Drivers tell your operating system how to fully utilize the power of your hardware. So if you want to get the most out of your hardware, it is a very good idea to update your drivers, to have the most recent drivers for your hardware components. RiverSoft came up with an application that helps with this precise task: Driver River. This utility will identify outdated drivers and will help you get the latest drivers.

To install Driver Reviver on your PC, you must meet the following minimum system requirements: 300MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, 22MB of free disk space, internet connection. Your PC can be powered by a 32 or a 64-bit edition of Windows 7, Vista, or XP. A simple setup wizard will help you install Driver Reviver on your PC.

At the top, on Driver Reviver’s interface, you will find several buttons: Home, PC Scan, Backup, Options, Register. What you see in the pane underneath depends on what button you click. When the Home button is clicked, for example, you will see info on your PC’s hardware, an overview of your PC’s health, and a big green button that invites you to scan your PC.

Speaking about that, the first time you run Driver Reviver, it will automatically run a scan of your system and it will identify outdated drivers. These outdated drivers are presented to you in a list. You can choose to update everything on the list, or just specific elements on it. Please note that the trial version of Driver Reviver does not let you update drivers – it only uncovers outdated drivers.

Driver Reviver can also back up your drivers and restore them, should something go wrong. The application can perform a complete backup of all your system drivers, or it can back up only the drivers you specify.

From the Options menu you can set it up so that Driver Reviver automatically loads at startup and automatically starts a scan when the application is launched, you can create a driver exclusion list, and you can pick one of the many supported languages.
